Atranas MicroPortal Available On Ingenico Terminals
Atrana Solutions, the leader in innovative POS terminal software development and value-add transaction processing, has extended access to its PAYWAVE network by enabling its MicroPortal technology on Ingenicos Elite 510, 710 and 712 multi-app POS terminals.
September 20, 2004 -- The availability of MicroPortal on the Ingenico family of terminals provides the market a new cost-efficient method to access the PAYWAVE value-add processing network, says Atrana CEO Salah Boukadoum. MicroPortal acts like an Internet web browser giving merchants access to all current and future PAYWAVE services. MicroPortal is often the last piece of software ever loaded into a terminal.
Ingenico is excited Atranas MicroPortal technology can now be enabled on our Elite family of terminals, says John Priore, EVP and General Manager of Ingenicos Financial Systems organization. The addition of MicroPortal as a certified Ingenico application extends the functionality of our terminals, creating more value for users of our technology.
MicroPortal, a thin-client software engine, enables multiple applications to function as a single, feature rich system. Much like an Internet web browser, MicroPortal is a portal, or access point, to the PAYWAVE network which offers a portfolio of value-add services including POSA, e-PIN delivery, gift card support, prepaid bankcard loading, and Age verification. Payment applications can be linked to MicroPortal providing a single user-interface for all terminal functions and simplifying clerk training. As new services are available on PAYWAVE they are immediately available via the MicroPortal interface with no software upgrades or business interruption to the merchant. The terminal management features of MicroPortal can also be used to configure other applications residing in a multi-app terminal.
Atrana has entered into an agreement with Ingenico to resell terminals preloaded with MicroPortal. Ingenico customers with an installed base of terminals require only a single software download to add MicroPortal to terminals already in the field.
